After Utah passed HB 77 to ban displaying pride flags on government property, which includes schools and public parks, Salt Lake City unveiled a series of new official flags to circumvent that ban in May 2025. These flags include the instantly recognizable designs from the classic flags they are based on, but add the city’s sego lily logo. The Sego Belonging Flag is an homage to the Progress Pride Flag, and it is fully compliant with Utah’s ban on non-official flags.
