Our History

Project Rainbow Utah (PRU) began as an initiative to bring LGBTQ+ visibility to Utah by distributing rainbow flags. It was founded by Lucas Horns, inspired by the idea of creating a visible symbol of support during Pride Week. The project expanded from staking flags to a broader mission of fostering inclusion and supporting LGBTQ+ groups through the Community Fund. PRU partners with local organizations and schools, raising funds to promote LGBTQ+ visibility across the state, now delivering thousands of flags and awarding grants to community initiatives.
