Pride Flags For A Cause
Buying a pride flag that supports the LGBTQ+ community is easy with Project Rainbow.
The money we raise from flag sales and flag-staking campaigns supports our organization and our Community Fund. This fund distributes grants to organizations and individuals empowering queer folks and creating inclusive spaces in Utah. We distributed more than $36,000 to 32 events, and another $18,000 to pride festivals and long-term partners in 2025.
Utah is a red state, but it’s still home to many queer folks. State lawmakers have gone after the rights of LGBTQ+ Utahns in recent years, and especially transgender Utahns, with bans on pride flags on government property, restrictions on youth access to trans affirming health care, and bans on trans youth playing sports alongside their peers.
These attacks narrow our rights, and create a chilling effect that can compromise safe spaces and shutter programs aimed at cultivating diversity and inclusion. The events Project Rainbow supports are one way to combat this harmful messaging while giving queer Utahns places to belong and thrive.
When your government doesn’t respect your rights and your dignity, finding community and accessing affirming spaces makes a world of difference. When universities cancel lavender graduations, it motivates us even more to host them ourselves. When a queer kid feels unsafe in their own neighborhood, flying a flag in your yard or hanging it in your window becomes a beacon of support. Every flag we ship supports our goal of making Utah a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for everyone.
We have several varieties of gay pride flags, including the trans pride flag and the progress pride flag, which is sometimes called a “modern pride flag.”
We also have the Sego Belonging Flag and Sego Visibility Flag, which are official Salt Lake City variants created to sidestep Utah HB 77, which banned pride flags from display at government buildings and property—including schools and public parks.
We have full-size pride flags as well as garden-size pride flags. The garden option is perfect as a rainbow flag in your window or displays nicely indoors, in a classroom for example.
